The laxative effects of Aloe Vera Gel

This is the natural gel which is obtained from the leaves when the outer layer is stripped away. It has a bitter taste and has anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal as well as anti-viral and antibacterial properties.

One of the compounds contained within it is anthraquinones which produce the laxative and purging effect of aloe vera gel.
